Learning about Settler Colonialism

In this presentation, Dr. Susan Dion provides a broad strokes history lesson addressing the post-contact relationship between First Nations people and new comers. Drawing on her work as an Indigenous scholar and educator through a series of stories Dion describes how prevailing stories in Canadian society and in Canadian schools impede the teaching of post-contact history in ways that respect Aboriginal experience in all its diversity, pain, resistance, anger and hope.
