This on-demand ordering system allows schools and boards to access resources that matter most to them. It replaces the Student Achievement Division’s fall and spring resource packages which will no longer be automatically mailed to schools and boards. The system is currently in a pilot phase.
THE FALL & SPRING STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT RESOURCE PACKAGES
A note from the ministry’s Student Achievement Division
We will no longer be automatically mailing the Achieving Excellence Fall and Spring Resource Packages to schools and boards. Instead, we are piloting an online ordering system where school and system leaders can request shipment of new resources according to context and need.
To launch the pilot, we have emailed log-ins to former recipients of the mailing package — namely, Directors of Education, Supervisory Officers, Student Effectiveness Leads, Student Success Leads, School Principals (elementary and secondary) and selected education organizations. Once logged on, recipients can browse the content areas (based on the ministry’s renewed vision for education), then select to view or download — or put in their cart to order a physical copy. We emphasize that some order limits apply, particularly with respect to the 2016 Reprint of the Guides to Effective Instruction in Mathematics.
In our first fall 2016 catalogue, some resources focus on teaching and learning mathematics, whereas others address more broadly effective pedagogy and school improvement. In the months to come, we will be posting new material for online ordering. We will be observing responses to this pilot system, and learning and adjusting as we go. It is important to stress at this time that previously published resources and many resources on this portal can still be ordered from ServiceOntario.
