Kindergarten - Grade 5
Jodie Howcroft used to be a teacher who taught her students in a very traditional way. By utilizing community partnerships to add to the richness of her students inquiry projects, she has engaged her students and inspired them to do their own inquiries outside of school.
With a focus on improving the collaborative skills of her students, Beth Grosso saw an improvement in the level of empathy of her students, who have deepened their learning by connecting to each other’s ideas. It was her willingness to take risks and move past paper and pencil lessons that allowed deep conversations to thrive within her classroom.
MUBINA PANJU & ANGELA HOFFMAN
Beginning their Knowledge Building journey together, Mubina Panju and Angela Hoffman have supported each other. Despite teaching in different classes, their willingness to share their ideas has only enhanced the experience. It also has made Knowledge Building a common approach for some of their students who have had them as teachers from JK to grade 2.
